WESTVILLE, OK — Westville Public Schools has secured a five-year Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) Grant from the Oklahoma State Department of Education. This competitive federal award will sustain after-school and summer programs for Pre-K through 5th-grade students at Westville Elementary.
The grant provides $251,689 in its first year, supporting academic achievement through engaging, hands-on enrichment outside traditional school hours.
During the school year, Westville Elementary students can join "The Hive," an after-school program that pairs academic support with project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM).
In the summer, the "Wild About Summer Camp" offers an immersive experience featuring field trips, STEM activities, and literacy exercises. The program is designed to prevent summer learning loss while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

The 21CCLC program is the only federally funded source dedicated exclusively to supporting local before-school, after-school, and summer learning programs. Grants are awarded through a competitive application process and are intended to improve student achievement by providing high-quality academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours.
