Westville Public Schools will be closing school under the order given by the Oklahoma State Board of Education today. We will be going to a distance learning program that will look different for each grade level and class. We will be delivering this education method starting April 6 and ending on May 8. Teachers are working hard to come up with a plan to provide every student with plan of study regardless of having internet or online services. More details will be coming in the following days and next week as we receive more guidance from the SDE. In the meantime we will still be having a grab and go meal service. This service will continue for the remainder of the school year. As of today March 25, Adair county has been put on the "shelter in place order" or "safer at home" order by the Governor because we have 2 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Adair county. Westville Schools will be doing grab and go meals at the school tomorrow from 10am until 1 pm. The child must be in car to receive meals. The nurse will be available outside of the elementary to pick up your child’s medicine from 10-1 as well. Thank you.
Westville Public Schools will not run the bus routes delivering food next week. After a conference call with the SDE we don’t feel like we can put more of our staff at risk at this time. We will be having a grab and go meals available from 10:30am until 1 pm. Children must be in the car to receive the meals. We will bring the meals to you and the school buildings will not be open to public. We will re-evaluate next week for the following week. Thank you for understanding.

Westville Public Schools will be feeding children 0-18 years age. We will have a drive thru service behind the cafeteria. You may pick up the breakfast and lunch between 11 am and 1 pm. We will be delivering breakfast and lunch to children on existing bus routes. The buses will roll at 10:30 am and go to bus stops. All children 18 and younger are eligible for the meals. There will be 3 town routes going to different locations to distribute food. Bushyhead Heights, Greystone and the Laundry mat, and Carriage Park. Today State School Superintendent Joy Hofmeister and the State Board of Education voted to shut schools down until April 6th. This is to take extreme precautions to slow the Covid-19 virus from spreading. School Superintendents have a conference call with the SDE tomorrow and we will have more answers. Please take the precautions being added daily by the CDC. We will keep you updated.

Tonight, Cherokee Nation College Resources Chris Stilwell will be in the library from 5-7 pm. Parents, Seniors and Juniors are invited to stop by to learn about scholarship opportunities.
There will be a Senior Parent meeting in the auditorium at 6:30 pm tomorrow March 12th to answer any questions can be answered.
The difficult decision to cancel the Senior Trip was made today. The safety and well being of our students and staff is the most important. We are in plans with the seniors on an alternative smaller trip at a later date if possible. We have no reason to. Relieve that any of our people are at risk but taking a trip to Florida was to much of a risk. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call me at the school or email me. Westville Public schools will be hosting a public forum on Monday, March 2 at 5:30 in the HS gym to answer questions about the upcoming bond issue. We will also host one on Saturday, March 14 at 10 am at RRP in Chance. More dates to come.
